Release Notes: Screenshot Protection, June 16, 2026

Screenshot Protection is a new gallery-level feature designed to add an active, visible layer of deterrence against unauthorized image capture across desktop and mobile galleries.

Available to both Professional and Advanced plan subscribers, Screenshot Protection works alongside watermarking to help photographers protect the galleries they rely on for proofing, delivery, and sales.

To be fully transparent: Screenshot Protection is designed to discourage and deter common screenshot behavior. It can’t completely prevent every possible capture method. External cameras, third-party screen recording tools, and certain device-level capture methods may still bypass these protections.

Desktop screenshot protection:

Zenfolio galleries can now detect common keyboard-based screenshot shortcuts on desktop and immediately display a blocking overlay over the image in view.

  • Keyboard shortcut detection inside gallery view
  • Full-image blocking overlay triggered during screenshot attempts
  • Customizable overlay messaging for photographers
  • Gallery-level enable/disable controls

Mobile screenshot protection:

Mobile galleries now support optional screenshot deterrence through partial image blur and touch-to-reveal interactions.

  • Touch-and-hold image to reveal interaction
  • Independent mobile protection settings

Gallery-level controls & customization:

Screenshot Protection is fully configurable at the gallery level, giving photographers control over where and when the feature is active.

  • Enable or disable protection per gallery
